The Boulder cycling community lost Amy “firecracker” Dombroski Thursday, Oct. 3 in a cycling accident.  Dombroski was training in Belgium when she was struck and killed by a truck.  The Boulder Daily Camera reports that Dombroski was a pro cyclocross racer who had been living and racing full time in Belgium.  A memorial fund has been started in Dombroski’s honor.

Colorado ski areas began making snow this week.  With the first snow storm in the forecast for Friday, local ski areas are firing up their snow guns in preparation for the 2013-2014 season.  Boulder Weekly reports that Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are among the first resorts in Colorado to begin making snow.

Dunkin’ Donuts could be making a return to Boulder.  The Denver Post reported that a “Coming Soon: Dunkin’ Donuts” sign went up on a building at 3235 28th St. this week.  The donut chain opened restaurants in two Denver locations earlier this week.
